A small begining
It seems the best place to begin any project is at the beginning. I have been meaning, for some time to begin to document the work that I do on WordPress based websites and other techy jobs that I find myself involved in.
You may have noticed that this blog is completely out of the box. My plan is to document the process that I go through to build this site into a customized blog that will function just as I want it to. I have created highly customized wordpress installations several times but I have never tracked the process in any cohesive way.
Using my work on the customization of this site will, hopefully, act as a jumping off point as I begin to document and share my discoveries, successes, and failures in wrangling the core of WordPress into the unique needs of other websites.
The site as it stands today
- Base WordPress 2.3.3 installation
- Permalink Structure Set
- Blog title and tag line set
- Default post, page, and links removed.
Being that I hope to post from my mobile device my first order of business will be to research and test plugins to both view and manage wordpress from mobile devices. More on this tomorrow.
